The Gulf of Baratti is a small basin located between the Ligurian Sea and the Tyrrhenian Sea, in the municipality of Piombino, Livorno.
Near the Gulf, there are residues from the Etruscan era, including a certain presence of iron slag, which was part of the workings of that period.
The depths of the waters of the Gulf of Baratti are shallow and of a color between golden and amber, its beach is sandy and in some stretches there is a beautiful pine forest characterized by the presence of maritime pines and the numerous shrubs of the Mediterranean scrub, as well as than to many other types of vegetation.
At the end of the 80s, a wreck was found near the gulf with traces of medicines used in ancient Rome.
